Dr. Jacque McAndrew, DVM

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree From Purdue University in 1969.

Dr. McAndrew has treated pets in San Diego throughout her career, in addition to three years in Prince Edward Island in Canada.
Alternative Training: certified in N.A.E.T (Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Treatment), V.O.M (Veterinarian Orthopedic Manipulation), Reiki Level III, Healing Touch for Animals Level 3 and Acupuncture. Dr. McAndrew has her acupuncture certification through IVIS. Dr. McAndrew also has an interest in Homeopathy and Homotoxicology.
Family: Dr. McAndrew's husband, Mac, retired as a Command Master Chief in the Navy and then taught Math at Chula Vista High School until he retired a few years ago. They have two married sons and three active grandchildren.
Current Pets: A black miniature poodle named Shen is the princess, dividing her time between home and the hospital. Shen loves to howl at Mac. He howls back.
Gwen, a pretty, orange cat, is the queen of the hospital after worming her way into the doctor's heart during an exam for euthanasia. You can catch Gwen sitting on boxes when supplies are delivered.
Hobbies: include reading, walking with friends, researching ancestry, learning languages and trying to grow vegetables and flowers.

Dr. Grunewald  | South San Diego Veterinary Hospital

Dr. Grunewald

Dr. Grunewald believes in an integrative approach towards healing to provide the best treatment for animals under her care. To affirm this belief, Dr. Grunewald applies frequency specific low level laser therapy and provides nutritional guidance and support. The goal is provide comprehensive care and well-being for animals.
Dr. Grunewald was born and raised in Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. In 1997, she moved to San Diego and began a longstanding career with Crown Veterinary Hospital in Coronado until January, 2014. In addition to Animal Energetics and since 2012, Dr. Grunewald also serves as the Southern California Veterinary Consultant for Standard Process a nutritional and herbal support company. Dr. Grunewald has been with South San Diego Veterinary Hospital since 2015 and works 2 days a week on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Dr. Grunewald achieved certification in Veterinary Acupuncture (CVA) from the Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine in 2009. In 2011, she became a Certified Veterinary Chiropractic Practitioner, receiving professional training in Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation (VOM) and Veterinary Low Level Laser Therapy (VLLLT). In 2013 Dr. Grunewald received an Herbal Certification through the Australian College of Phytotherapy and recently an Applied Clinical Nutrition certification thru Standard Process (2014). In recent years, she has taken interest in and began studying the use medical and therapeutic grade essential oils for general health and specific health concerns for both people and animals.
In her spare time, Dr. Grunewald works and trains at Aerial Revolution where she specializes in performance choreography as well as teaching and learning new skills in trapeze, silks, lyra, and hand balancing. Every year she returns to her hometown in Wisconsin to choreograph and work with one of the leading national teams in performance gymnastics. This team has performed all over the country and attended several world gymnastrada’s in Europe and is currently ranked number one nationally. She has 3 fun and loving cats as well as 2 adorable chihuahua’s that keep her busy the rest of the time.

Amber Roehm, RVT  | South San Diego Veterinary Hospital

Amber graduated with honors from Mesa College's Animal Health Technology program in May 2007 then aced the RVT exam the following December.
Alternative Training: Reiki Level II, Healing Touch for Animals through Level 3; constantly attends lectures and seminars to stay on top of the latest in veterinary medicine and care; feline care and behavior are of special interest.
Current Pets: German shepherd: Prism; felines: Gravyboat, Little Man, B.J., Black, Dooter, Sunshine, Kitten, Scurvy and Fredericko.
Hobbies: Baseball, soccer and kung fu with her two boys, along with activities with her husband and father. There is no such thing as downtime for Amber.

Carol Coffman, RVT | South San Diego Veterinary Hospital

Carol is a registered vet tech since 1995. She graduated from UABC, B.C. Mexico in 1991 and has been with Dr. McAndrew since 1984. Anesthetizing animals and assisting the Doctors in surgery are her primary duties.

Personal: Carol has two beautiful kids
Current Pets: Two dogs - Hunter: shorthair Pointer, and A.F.I.: a black lab

Pam is our Lead Receptionist and can assist as a Veterinarian Technician. She has 35 years’ experience in the field.
Alternative Training: Reiki Level III, Healing Touch for Animals 2.
Personal: Pam has 2 children: Jeff and Gina and a granddaughter named Arianna. She also has a long time boyfriend named Roy and his 2 daughters Dinah & Charlotte.
Current Pets: 3 dogs - a 7 yr old Pitbull named Sita, a 13 yr old Collie Mix named Shyloh and a 16 yr old Chihuahua named Buddy. She has a few too many cats, 2 cockatiels, an assortment of pocket pets and fish.
Hobbies: Cooking, walking the dogs, gardening, playing with her granddaughter and spending time with her family.

Terry graduated with honors from Pima Medical Institute, Veterinary Assistant program in 2002. She is currently in pursuit of the RVT classification, and wants to be Dr. Doolittle when she grows up.

Current Pets: felines: DirtBag, Wheeze, Screech, Rwanda, Sophie (Town Town Town), Schmiege and Whackiki. Tux just shows up for meals. BeeBeeKwew lives on the couch.
Hobbies: Reading, cooking, biking, time with my granddaughter, MORE time with granddaughter, and crossword puzzles.
